Thanks very much for your interest in our work.

We are planning to take 1-2 Ph.D. students in the 2015-2016 academic year; several projects in RNA-based genetic control system design and engineering will be available (updated August 2015).

We are especially interested in hearing from people with experience in the following areas:
  • Information and/or control theory
  • Programming (e.g., Python)
  • Computational modeling and statistical analysis (e.g., kinetics, sensitivity analysis, R)
  • in vitro selection/SELEX (RNA aptamers, ribozymes)
  • Genetic assembly (using Gibson, CPEC, etc.)
  • Metabolic engineering (pathway construction and optimization)
Postdoc candidates should send application materials to and include:
  • CV or resume (with a list of publications)
  • A brief description of your present and future research interests
  • The names of 3 references
Graduate students should first gain admission to one of the University of Washington Ph.D. programs.  Please see the department websites for information about admissions.
