It's wonderful to be a Great Bend High School. This is my eighth year in this position and I am thrilled to get to work with the youth of this community and fellow FCS teacher Katy Hekele. The courses I teach are Introduction to Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS), Foundations to Early Childhood Development, Family Studies, Human Growth and Development and Early Childhood Applications. I am also the sponsor for Educators Rising, formerly known as Future Educators of America (FEA), student organization this year.

A little about me:

I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University in Family Studies, a Master of Library Science degree from Emporia State University and have completed graduate coursework in secondary education from Fort Hays State University. I am married to GBHS Journalism/Yearbook instructor Andy Negaard and we have one daughter and one son in elementary school.
