Course requirements and options
Foundations of Physical Education (Required for 1 semester 9th grade)
Foundations of PE: Foundations of PE is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to engage in a physically active, healthy lifestyle throughout life. Areas of focus in the course include: Health-related Fitness, Lifetime Physical Activity and Health/Wellness Concepts and Skills. This class is co-ed.
* Participation is required to pass this course.
Foundations of Health (Required for 1 semester 10th grade)
Advanced Physical Education
Advanced PE is designed for students with an interest in physical education, athletics, and fitness. Students will develop skills in selected team/individual activities and maintain and improve health-related fitness. Activities may include, but not limited to: basketball, ultimate football, kick ball, soccer, spike ball, speed ball, badminton, pickleball, ultimate Frisbee, team handball, and volleyball, cornhole, tennis. Daily participation and suiting up for class in appropriate PE attire is required. This class is co-ed. (repeatable course - prereq: Freshman PE).

Weight Training and Conditioning

Sports Medicine and Athletic Training
This course will provide a basic understanding of and experience in athletic training and applied health sciences. It will help prepare students interested in competitive athletics, non-competitive involvement in athletics, healthcare careers, applied health science careers as physical therapy, kinesiology, or sports medicine or careers in fields such as personal training, coaching or teaching physical education.
