“Don’t let Mrs. Blair get in your mind, just do your work and you’ll be fine” is a bit of advice freshman Lucas Edie has for next year’s freshmen.
Lucas Scott Edie was born on October 12, 2008, to Albert and Tanya Edie. Lucas is the middle child in the family. He has one older brother, McCoy, and one younger brother, Sawyer. McCoy is 16, while Sawyer is 7.
Lucas has a lot of good memories, but his favorite one was this last summer when he was hanging out with friends late one night, and they went to a place they call the hole. They built a campfire together and jumped off a drain pipe nearby into a pool. They also swam in the pool, too.
“The most impactful person in my life is Callie Belts,” Lucas said. Callie is his girlfriend and someone he will always remember. Lucas’s ideal Saturday night would be going to St. Joe with Callie, with his brother McCoy driving, jamming out to Zach Bryan on the way, and heading to Buffalo Wild Wings for some good wings.
Lucas’s goal for this next year is to get better grades and pass classes. He participates in KAY Club, wrestling, and football. Lucas had an eventful freshman year when he broke his femur (the hardest bone to break in your body). Lucas couldn’t finish out his football season, but he played on it for a while. He thought it was a strain so he kept playing on it but later found out he broke it. He was in a wheelchair for a long time and kept everyone entertained with his antics.
After high school, he hopes to go to Votech and become a mechanic when he grows up so he can help people with their cars.
Lucas’s favorite song is “Turn and Kill” by Zach Bryan. He said the lyrics just “speak to him.” His favorite artist is Mac Miller because he is so inspirational. His lyrics are especially inspirational. “He has that summer vibe, whenever you are just sitting down on a cold and gloomy day, just listen to Mac Miller, and immediately you will think of summer.”
Lucas wants to be remembered as a risk-for-reward type guy. He said people need to risk something to get what they really want. “Without risk, you won’t have a satisfying reward.”
