When looking at whether or not to go to college, cost is always a big consideration. Scholarships can help out a lot with cost, but getting those scholarships can take a lot of hard work.
Getting a high-class ranking and a high GPA can greatly affect a person’s chances of qualifying for more scholarships. However, keeping grades high is more challenging than it sounds.
You have to study, get assignments done and turned in on time, and study enough to get good grades on assignments and tests that you won’t be able to redo.
Lydia Keebler is ranked 8th overall in the freshman class with a 3.8 GPA. She spends the most time doing homework for and studying Algebra 1.
Keebler said, “I study for upcoming tests by going over the study guide or material of what we learned in class,”
She also said, “Making time in your schedule can be hard, but I take time at night to do my work instead of being on my phone or working on it during the school day in my free time.”
Her parents and friends help her and encourage her to stay on top of her work and grades.
Andi Foster is ranked 2nd overall in the freshman class with a 3.98 GPA. She also spends a lot of time on Algebra homework, but uses a skill she has mastered well, time management.
Foster prepares for upcoming tests with her mom, Erica Foster. They study together and make sure she’s nailed every answer. The rest of her family loves to help when they can.
To make extra time, she tries to stay off her phone during free periods and at home, making more time for homework and studying.
To keep your grades high, it takes a lot of hard work, but nothing’s ever impossible, proving you should always strive for your goals!
