Recent studies indicate that approximately one in five teens between ages 12 and 18 suffer from at least one diagnosable mental health disorder, according to the website “An Introduction to Teen Mental Health.”
Freshman Myleigh Harrell answered some questions about her mental health.
Q- What is mental health to you?
A- Mental health is something that affects you and can do damage if not taken care of.
Q- Has mental health affected you at all?
A- Yes it has.
Q-What type of mental health disorder do you struggle with?
A- Depression, I have had to go to counseling for 3 years because of it. And it can affect anyone and you should talk to someone about it if you are feeling sad and feel like something might be wrong.
Q-Do you know anyone who has mental health problems?
A-Not that I know off.

A- Yes it has. Everyone in their life deals with at least one mental health problem or more.

A- Yes, depression and anxiety runs in my family, so I know a lot of family members,
Q- What type of mental health disorder do you struggle with?
A- I struggle with depression and go to counseling for it. And if you ever feel like something is wrong you should always talk to someone if you can.
