Chromebooks are great for completing school work and getting information, but sometimes there can be too much of a good thing. There is much to be said for going back to the basics of good ole pencil and paper. Research shows that spending time hand writing is beneficial.
The article "The Benefits of Writing by Hand: How Handwriting Helps Kids Learn" suggests several reasons to hand write when it comes to learning. Among the benefits are increased test scores and an increase in creativity. The article also reports that by writing by hand, it calms the mind and allows ideas to flow better.
When using paper and pencil it will help a student remember. Not only that, it makes homework a lot simpler. Paper and pencil will benefit you because if you are in the middle of nowhere and you have homework, you can do it because it doesn't require WiFi. You can just pull it out and work on it.
What I mean is you can never go wrong with paper and pencil. You can go back and fix what you had messed up, but a computer you have to undo everything you have already done.
In my opinion, I think paper and pencils are way better than computers and the internet. Because I understand paper and pencil better than I do the computer, and as you can see I am typing this, but I would honestly rather write it out.
For me as a student at DWHS I would like to go back to paper and pencil because of the simple fact that we use our computers for everything, like we never get a break from our computers. You would think you could get like an hour or two without your computer, but no, we get passing periods without the computer.
