Whetstine (#23) puts up a shot during a home game versus Troy.
Malaina Whetstine, better known as Moo to her close friends and family, is a sophomore who loves to play basketball with her close friends and teammates. She is the 4th daughter in a family of five girls.
Q: How do you feel being the 4th child?
A: Being the 4th child isn’t terrible. As a child it wasn’t very fun because you and the 5th baby were always known as the little girls. You could never do what your older sisters were doing.
Q: Why do people call you Moo?
A: When I was younger and going to daycare, my babysitter gave me the nickname of Moo. She came up with it because I used to go around saying it all the time, and it was my first word. It has stuck with me since.
Q: As a 16 year old girl do you like being called Moo still?
A: It doesn’t bother me at all. People used to never know my real name, but now most people do.
Q: Which sister are you closest to?
A: Emmyjo. We used to never really get along, but now we are really close.
Q: If you could have any kind of car what would it be and why?
A: If I could have any car, it would probably be a Tesla or a Jeep. These are cars that I’ve always wanted.
Q: Would you like to have a brother or do you like having all girls? Explain why or why not?
A: It would be nice to have a brother, but that’s not gonna happen. I would like to have the experience of having a brother and not having all sisters.
