What places do DWHS students fear?
An October 2021 survey of the student body, asked what things they fear. Thirty one students did respond and these are the results and reasons why they may or may not be afraid of said place, thing, or item.
Four out of the 31 students said they are afraid of cemeteries. According to pattenmonument.com people may be afraid of cemeteries because of movies, fear of the dead, or the eerie silence that sometimes occurs at cemeteries. And because people are buried in cemeteries, most people are afraid to see a ghost or spirit.
Ten students said they were afraid of abandoned warehouses. According to urbexunderground.com people are afraid of empty buildings for lack of human life. Same goes with abandoned houses or other buildings. The article claims, “There is no imminent present threat inside an abandoned building, but your brain is constantly telling you that there could be. It’s fear of the unknown.”
Seven students reported they were afraid of abandoned asylums. Many reasons could be the knowledge of all the people that went there. If someone were to have died in the asylum, and the said person knows about it, they may be afraid of seeing a spirit. This can lead to hallucinations and the brain playing tricks on them.
