Freshmen Norah Howerton in a cloth mask and Malaina Whetstine in a disposable mask represent two common mask options.

Masks have become another basic part of our daily wardrobe. Masks can just as well make or break your outfit, so choose wisely, and think about your options.
There are basically two types of masks: disposable and reusable cloth masks. I've seen people wear both types here at DWHS, and I'm here to tell you which one I recommend. I’ve worn both types of masks and typically I’m wearing a disposable mask, but occasionally I will be wearing a reusable cloth mask.
Personally, a disposable mask is more comfortable on my ears and face, because it is not as tight on my face and it's much more breathable than a cloth mask. Disposable masks are cheaper and more accessible, meaning you can get free disposable masks when you walk into a public building. Unfortunately, they are not as good for the environment since they are a one time use.
Cloth masks are better for the environment because they are reusable and washable. Depending on the type of mask you get, the cloth mask will fit your ears better due to ear adjusters. However, cloth masks are also more expensive and less accessible, meaning they are not handed out for free because they are more expensive.
Masks really differ depending on the person, so I would say whatever fits you the best and is more comfortable for you, then I think you should go with that.
Hi, my name is Hannah Albers, a freshman at DWHS. My first year in high school has been really interesting due to the Corona virus. Even though this year has been eventful, I still take part in the activities I enjoy, such as volleyball. I am the freshman class president, a member of the student council, a member of KAY club, and a member of the FFA. In my free time, I like to go to the lake with family, and hang out with friends.
