Packing for college can sometimes be stressful and most items are ditched by the end of the first semester. Making a list may help you narrow down your items by checking them off as you go and making sure you are not bringing things you absolutely don’t need. Senior Naomi Libel plans to live in a dorm at the University of Kansas. Her list of things to bring includes a tv, rugs, mini fridge, wall hooks, decorations, fairy or led lights, and stuff for cooking and cleaning.
Stetson Diveley, 2020 graduate who attends Emporia State University and lives in a dorm, shared some advice about what to bring. He recommends bringing a first aid kit and medicine (ibuprofen, cold meds, etc), basic cleaning supplies, dishes, power strips, a fan, and school supplies like tape, a stapler, and sticky notes.
The internet article "30 "Must Haves" for Surviving College" recommends some items that college students must pack.
Extra set of sheets
At least one microwave bowl
A few fans
A mini tool kit
Trash liners
Command hanging strips
A big calendar
Water filter
Storage bins
Power cord
Area rugs
Even though it is April, August is not that far away and seniors who plan to head off to college could benefit from thinking ahead and making a list. Who knows, maybe they can ask for these items for graduation gifts.
