New high school social studies teacher Mr. Edmonds does not just love social studies. He also is a big sports fan, card collector, and family person. 

Q: Where did you previously teach?

A: Ashland for two years, coached basketball, cross country, and track there. After that he taught at Yates Center for two years.

Q: How is Doniphan West different from the other schools you taught at? 

A: Doniphan West is home to him. He said it is one of the best feelings for him. He also loves the community and enjoys the school districts and students. 

Q: What do you do in your free time?

A: Edmonds takes walks with wife, collects sports cards, and plays video games in his free time. 

Q: What is something interesting about you?

A: Has over 10,000 football cards, showed rabbits for 4-H, can relate to people very well, “Relationships build character.”

Q: Do you have any pets? If so, what are their names and species?

A: A cat named willow.

Q: When you go to Casey’s, what is your go-to snack?

A: Diet Coke and cookies. 

Q: What were you like in high school? 

A: He was very quiet and shy, “I molded my whole high school career around running and keeping up with grades,” Edmonds stated. 

Q: Did you get in trouble in high school? If so, what for?

A: Nope

Q: Did you play any sports in high school? If so, what were they?

A: Cross country, track, basketball, scholars bowl 

Q: Were you in any clubs in high school? If so, what were they?

A: No

Q: Did you always want to become a teacher? If no, what else did you want to do?

A: “My dad was a teacher so I always knew I wanted to go into teaching since middle school.” Edmonds knew he was good at history and wanted to coach. As he went into high school he decided on social studies.

Q: What is your favorite memory from college? 

A: Graduating, passing his practice exams.
