FFA at the Greenhand contest.

The Ag and FFA classes are under the direction and guidance of a new teacher, Mrs. Adame. Even though they have a new teacher, the Ag and FFA classes are still as active as ever and have many chances to actively participate.
The DWHS FFA chapter has 57 people, and activities they can participate in include that contests, national convention, and varies other activities that FFA does over the year.
One contest is Greenhand where freshmen Van Crowley and Kyra Johnson placed. Another contest that FFA attended was Nursery and Landscape where freshman Aly Gobin and sophomore Broc Leatherman placed. Dairy Cattle judging is another contest students attended, and freshman Claire Cole placed third.
The FFA National Convention is at the end of November, and it will take place in Indianapolis, Indiana. The DWHS group of students attending will be gone from Oct. 23 to Nov. 3.
Another upcoming FFA activity is barn warming, Nov. 12, during which candidates compete to be this year’s beau and sweetheart. This evening activity begins with a banquet and continues with the one thing that FFA is currently doing is their fruit and meat sales that will be from October 24 to November 7
Aside from the FFA program, there are six ag classes, including ag mechanics and horticulture. In ag mechanics, they work on 16 welding skills. In horticulture, they work on cutting plants or incubation from an original host plant and growing their own small ones.
Hello I am Collin Yuill and I am a freshman student of DWHS. You probably came to my page by mistake. But if you didn't I guess I will tell you a bit about myself. I participate in scholars bowl and KAY club. I wish to become a graphic designer and love gaming. Some stuff that I like is the shade black and the color green, one of my favorite games is Skyrim, and my favorite food is chicken fried stake.
