ZuZu pets, Lincoln Logs, Barbies, toy cars, Little Pet Shop animals, tractors, WWE Action figures likely played a huge part in the childhood past of teens today.

Back when we were children and life seemed so much easier, ZuZu pets, Lincoln Logs, Barbies, toy cars, Little Pet Shop animals, tractors, WWE Action figures, and other toys occupied our time and interests. 

 In a November 2019 survey, DWHS students were asked about their toys when they were younger and if they still have them and if they were as popular as they once were. Some people played with toy cars, Barbies, Lincoln logs, Zoo Zoo Pets,  

Freshman Aly Gobin said she played with sidewalk chalk when she was younger. “Stores still sell sidewalk chalk but I don't think many kids play with it anymore,” Gobin said.

Chloe Clevenger, freshman, said she played with WWE Action Figures.“”I do still have all of them and they are more popular today then they were back then.” 

Sophomore Summer Smith said that Monster High dolls were the big thing when she was a kid.”

I think kids play with different toys than what they did back then because kids nowadays have phones and don't really go outside anymore or go play with their toys in their bedrooms.

Researchers say that kids these days are spending around nine hours a day on their phone or any electronics. Toys have definitely have changed over the years, like having just normal stuffed dolls to dolls that can talk and cry. Toys have also changed because they have toys that make noise, can move on their own, light up when you pick it up, and so much more. 

Some toys that have gone out of style or stores stopped selling are Wii’s, Lincoln logs, ZuZu pets, My little pet shop animals, Breyer Horses, etc. Those toys were played with a lot by some older kids but have gone out of style within the years. Some of the toys they played with are still in style and kids still play with them like Barbies, stuffed animals, tractors, and cars.
