Dr. George Cooper, a scientist at NASA Ames Research Center, studies meteorites to learn how the building blocks of life may have formed in space. He has discovered sugar-like molecules in meteorites, similar to those in DNA and RNA. His talk will explore how these cosmic ingredients may have developed a 'handedness' (left- or right-leaning forms) that was key for life to begin. Through lab experiments, his team is uncovering how space chemistry could have set the stage for life on Earth.
Be part of shaping this new initiative! A Q&A will follow the talk.
