I organise a series of multidisciplinary Research Seminars, which are intended to support our research activities by giving faculty an opportunity to present and get feedback on their research. So far the series has been quite successful, with presentations from faculties across the university.
We welcome presentations. The schedule below contains links to the presentations and also indicates the available slots for this semester. Please indicate your preferred date and the topic of your presentation by emailing me at thomas.singh@uog.edu.gy, or by calling me at 655-9219.
All Seminars will be held in the Education Lecture Theatre, between 11:00 am – 12:15 pm on the assigned dates, except for the days on which Board of the Faculty of Social Sciences meets, in which case the seminars will start at 1:30pm and end at 2:45pm.
General Guidelines
1. The seminars are open to all faculty members with an interest in development research, practice and policy, but 3rd and final year students, and especially post-graduate students, are also encouraged to attend.
2. Completed research as well as work in progress can be presented.
3. All presentations and/or research papers are to be made available one (1) week in advance of the actual presentation day.
4. The duration of a seminar is one hour: Thirty (30) minutes for the actual presentation and thirty (30) minutes for the discussion. Both multi-disciplinary research and research that might be very specialized in a particular sub-discipline are encouraged.
Schedule for Semester II, 2011/2012
** Due to Faculty Board Meeting on these days, all Seminars will commence at 1:30 pm instead of 11:00 am.
