Teaching Philosophy
I consider myself a lifelong learner and I try my best to inspire my students to follow suit. I am enthusiastic to the study of English Literature, consequently, my students find my devotion uneasy to resist for those English literature is not their preferred subject area.
I teach a wide range of classes a number of different subjects, so, I utilise various pedagogical techniques. I use strategies that are appropriate for the abilities of the students that I teach, and the objectives of the classes. In teaching fourth stage literature classes, I utilise formal lectures to urge students engage in critical thinking during analising texts and take part in class discussions to broaden their horizons as much as possible. On the contrary, when I teach the second year or the first year students introductory courses to literature, I use a simple language and short lectures and incorporate real-world.
I spend a lot of time preparing useful student-centered lectures and I try using recent sources as well as using cutting-edge technology in teaching. After all, I try to keep my standards high and expect all students to meet deadlines.
I consider my big challenge as a lecturer to be the struggle against the indifference of the students towards English literature and world literature as well. I am also eager to help students become creative in writing and effective in problem solving, to accept responsibilities for their learning and to face the difficulties they face inside the classroom and in their lives as well.
