Biography:
Dr. Karzan Omar, an academic and lecturer at the University of Sulaimani in the Iraqi Kurdistan region, has been in this position since 2010. My specialty is political science, with a focus on Kurdish politics. I received a master’s degree in Ukraine in 2009 and a PhD at the University of Sulaimani in 2024. I have written and published research in the Kurdish, Arabic, and English languages, basically analyzing Kurdish politics. As a speaker, I have participated in numerous local and international conferences.
My last academic activity, as a visiting scholar, was working on a research project with Professor Fiona Guiney about the minority misrepresentation of the Christian community in the Kurdistan Region at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland for eight weeks.
Research Interests
My research interests include the following fields.
1. Kurdish Politics.
2. International Studies, Russian Foreign Policy.
