My Philosophy in Teaching

When I first heart this quote I immediately related it my career as an educator. In the midst of preparing students for standardized tests and fulfilling the grade level content expectations state has set before every teacher, my main goal is to excite students about learning so they will being doing it independently in their everyday life. Through installing a love of learning in every student in my classroom, I will enable them to be successful learners both inside my classroom and out. My series of beliefs as a teacher supports this love of learning.

Building relationships with each and every student in the classroom is of utmost important; I am able to provide more genuine opportunities authentic learning experiences. Community meetings are an important part of the day in my classroom and provide students with the opportunity to share their interests with myself and the other members of the class, as well as develop a sense that their ideas are respected and valued. I belive assessments are critical when planning instruction. When planning for lessons, I am always reflection on what students know and have had previous exposure to , as the grade level content expectations, …

Meaningful learning experiences cannot happen without excellent classroom management. When students feel respected and safe in the classroom, they will be able to focus on learning. Consistent routines and procedures in the classroom not only help students feel comfortable in the environment but are also at the heart of classroom management.

To understand the insights physics provides, students must unlearn many “commonsense” interpretations of physical processes. In class, I create opportunities for students’ expectations to be challenged. In my classes I am acting with students to create the situation at the lecture time such as making collision inside class to understand the nature of collision between objects, also informing them about the possibilities of doing what we learn inside class in the laboratories.

Finally regarding social aspects of teaching I think relation between the teacher and students should be very transparent scientifically, as we should make them not to shy asking any questions no matter how simple the question is. While outside science environment this relation is highly affected by culture as it plays a huge role in this relation.
