Outline Biography

Aram Ali Mustafa received PhD in Modern and Contemporary Kurdish History: Russian-Kurdish Relations in the Faculty of History, Sociology and International Relations from Kuban State University, Krasnodar, Russia in 2007 and is currently an assistant professor, teaching Modern Kurdish History to undergraduates and postgraduates at the university of Sulaimani, College of Humanities, History Department.

His professional interests focus on the Russian attitudes and policy towards the Kurdish movements.

In addition, he worked as a Managing Director at Kurdology Centre (2010-2017), and is a member of the Academic Committee at the History Department, College of Humanities.

He has several publications, including a book in Kurdish on the Russian-Kurdish relations, a book in Russian co-authored with Professor E. G. Vartanyan on the Russian attitudes towards the Kurdish question in the 19th – 20th centuries, articles in the academic journals and translations of various books and articles from Russian and Swedish into Kurdish.

My research interest includes the following fields;

1. Modern and Contemporary Kurdish History.

2. International Relations.
