1. Freehand Drawings (I)
First Stage
Course Overview:
A freehand drawing is simply a drawing done by hand without the use of tools or aids such as templates, stencils, tracing, etc. This type of drawing is one of the most important skills for architects. It enables them to develop and present their idea easily and quickly.
The subject of the Freehand Drawing (I) is prepared for students in the first stage of Architectural Department. The lectures of the subject are primarily exercises in drawing, sketching or painting of particular still life, buildings or building models. They also provide opportunities for the students to conduct pieces of work on their own. The used instruments in Freehand Drawing (I) are pen, pencil, colour pencils, board and white papers as well. Followings are the main covered topics:
Architectural techniques for sketching
Drawing 2d shapes and 3d forms
Architectural hatching
Sketching still life, building model and building by using pencil
Sketching still life, building model and building by using coloured pencils
Architectural design drawing rendering by using both pencil and coloured pencils
2. Freehand Drawings (II)
Second Stage
Course Overview:
A freehand drawing is simply a drawing done by hand without the use of tools or aids such as templates, stencils, tracing, etc. This type of drawings is one of the most important skills for architects. It enables them to develop and present their idea easily and quickly.
The subject of the Freehand Drawing (II) is prepared for students in the second stage of Architectural Department. The lectures of the subject are primarily exercises in drawing, sketching or painting of particular still lifes, buildings or building models. They also provide opportunities for the students to conduct pieces of work on their own. The used instruments in Freehand Drawing (II) are pen, pencil, colour pencils, watercolour, ink, brush, markers, board, white canson papers and white papers as well. Followings are the main covered topics:
Quick Sketching (using pencil or pen)
Marker pen
Watercolor
3. Architectural Thesis
Fifth Stage
Course Overview:
The thesis course is the major compulsory module that architecture students should take in the final stage of the architectural department. The fifth year is a stage where students design mega projects during the academic year, the focus is on large-scale and complex buildings. Therefore, this year students will have a chance to design a large-scale realistic project that is the most demanding in the real-life market.
Students will go through essential stages in designing the projects such as data collection, project analysis, conceptual design, zoning, and final design with details and presentation.
This course will be given through a series of theoretical lectures; and report tasks and mainly relies on practice
