At the College of Science Education, Department of Biology, Currently I am teaching one subject namely;

  • Practical Animal Physiology.

My Philosophy in Teaching

On two main points, my philosophy of teaching is based:

1. Self – Instruction

The knowledge that can be acquired through self-learning will be saved in the long-term memory. Students are asked to prepare seminars about particular topics related to the major subjects of the course. This approach provides an incentive for the students to design, establish, direct, highlight, and assess one’s personal independent learning without a teacher's motivation. Consequently, students become more self-confident and break the barrier of fear. In the same framework, homework is regularly given to the students and they are responsible for the answers on the day of the exam.

2. Tell me I remember, show me I know and let me do I understand.

In this regard, the majority of my lectures contain representative images, animations and movies. This strategy will increase the level of understanding. This is because, during the teaching method course, I have been taught that increasing the number of the sensory organs results in increased degree of understanding. In addition, using permanent microscopic slides which are related to the studied topics, also serves the same target. Furthermore, I am doing my best to provide as much required materials so that students can do practical experiments on their own. This will increase their motivation and, as a result, the level of understanding.
