Having a good will is not enough to love each other. This world is full of people with good intentions but we all failed on this point. What we call "love" is not really love, but self satisfaction. We love with a human limited and conditional love. We love as long as people looks like us or serve our interests. It depends too on our frame of mind : If we have "a good day" we love people adn treat them right, but if we go through" a bas day"... take car.

Real love is unconditionnal and comes when we accept Christ in our lives. He gives us his strengh and his heart.

Well, we know that love-energy is what spawns creation. Love-energy starts at the source, with God(dess), or whatever we choose to call our Source Creator/Divine Truth. And we are all connected by the same love-energy. No exceptions. Even the people of the world who are living in darkness, the ones we judge as being 'bad' or 'evil', they are also part of this love-energy. (They just aren't remembering where they came from.) Every human is connected to this energy as well as every animal, insect, tree, plant, body of water, blade of grass, and even inanimate objects. If God had a physical body, we would each be a cell in it. I think this is a good way to visualize Universal Love. :-) We may not always act or feel in loving ways, but no matter what everyone is still a part of this love, this incredible energy which created us all. I think the most important thing that can bring us back to Universal Love is recognizing that every single person and animal on this planet shares this same energy and deserves to be viewed with the same love and light as everyone else. (This is a very difficult lesson which I'm still learning every day as I heal and face some old, buried childhood scars.) No one person, animal, or thing is more valuable than the next. No human life is more precious than an animal life, and although we feel such a deep compassion to help the hungry and ailing children all over the world, why do we forget about the man, sleeping under the bridge at night, who drinks? God sees that man in the same light and with the same love as He sees His angels, hospice volunteers, and Catholic nuns. He deserves our compassion as well.

I met an old man named Willie a few days ago, who happened to be homeless and standing at a street corner asking for money. I was really experiencing some difficulties in my day, and although the last thing I wanted to do was stop, something very strongly urged me to pull over and give what little money I had in my wallet to Willie. He limped over to where I was parked and graciously accepted the meager amount of cash I handed to him. He then proceeded to ask me my name, compliment my hair, and have me tell him about my day. And then he told me that God says we should love everyone, and so he loved me. I told him I loved him, too, and said goodbye to Willie. I was stunned. Here was this man who sleeps in a rough part of the city at night, with no shelter and in bad physical condition, seeing me, driving my car and obviously in a better position than he is (my life is far from perfect, but I definitely have a warm home to go to at night) and a different skin color than himself. And he cared so much about me, a total stranger, to even ask me my name. And this reminded me that we really aren't strangers. We are all brothers and sisters, even if we do not always like another person on the surface (we have all been disconnected from our souls many times throughout our lives), and we are all connected by the same love, the same energy. Later that night as I laid in bed and cried because I felt badly I could not improve Willie's situation for him, I realized that he gave me such an incredible gift...and a reminder. I, in turn, was feeling deep compassion and love AND concern for this supposed stranger. I do not know what choices he made in his life that led him to the position he is in now. We all create our situations in one way or another, even if it's simply from years of negative thinking (simple law of attraction--like attracts like). But that didn't matter to me. All I knew is that I felt such a deep love for Willie, the homeless man with very few teeth, and if my husband would have let me I probably would have scooped him up and taken him home with me. (Maybe not safe, but this is how I was feeling!) I am convinced that this love I was feeling was Universal love I had tapped into. A love for all, a knowing that we are all connected, and a release of ALL judgments, even if we've been hurt by someone in particular. It is the way God loves

Just as Christ loved us and died for us

we are suppose to love one another for he that loves fulfills the law

of christ and this could be traced to the universal declaration of

human rights by the united nations for we are all born free and equal

and as such must be treated fairly.This is a clear example of

I suppose my definition of universal love would be to try to understand all our brothers and sisters in this world. Not to dismiss their problems how ever big or small. To try and give a glimmer of hope when things are desperate and to try to love everyone as much as we can, as much as we love ourselves. Isn't that in essence what Jesus tried to teach us?
