SHORT BIO
I am full professor in Economics at the Department of Economics, Society and Politics (DESP) of the Università di Urbino Carlo Bo, Italy, where I teach Microeconomics and Monetary Economics. I am delegate of the Rector at International Relations, and chair of the Bachelor in Economics.
From 2024 I am a member of the Scientific Panel of the Italian Committee on Financial Education (Comitato EDUFIN).
I am also associate researcher of the Money and Finance Research Group (Mo.Fi.R) at the Università Politecnica delle Marche, Italy, member of the GEU (Gruppo Economisti di Urbino), and member of the scientific group of the ECDN Debt Scientific Group (CoDeS).
From 2022 I am member of the executive committee of the Italian Association for the Study of Comparative Economic Systems - AISSEC, member of the Structrualist Development Macroeconomics Research Group, member of the Economics teaching Committee of the Italian Economics Association.
From 2018 to 2022 I have been Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Applied Behavioral Economics (IJABE), and I am also member of the Scientific Committee of Argomenti - Journal of Economic provides a scholarly, international forum for all methodological approaches and schools of thought.
In 2018 I obtained the national habilitation from the Italian Ministry of Education of full professor of Economic Policy and Applied Economics (ASN Area 13/A2 and ASN Area 13/A4). In 2020 I also obtained the national habilitation from the Italian Ministry of Education of full professor of Political Economy (ASN Area 13/A1)
I graduated in 2001 in Economics and Business at the Università di Urbino with summa cum laude. I obtained a MSc. in Economics (with distinction) from the University College London in 2003, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the Università Politecnica delle Marche in 2006.
My research interests focus on problems in economic analysis related to the role of imperfections in real and financial markets, regulation, and the quality of institutions on the choices of economic agents, with a focus on firms on the one hand and banks on the other. Some publications deal empirically and theoretically with the analysis of interactions between imperfect markets on firms' decisions and performance in terms of profits, productivity, and investment. Recently, I am studying the links between climate change, monetary policies, and the stability of financial systems, and issues related to financial literacy and education
