Learning objectives

In this lectures you will learn

• What is an API
• What APIs enable and why they are central today from both a business and engineering perspective
• How to design APIs and expose as a service the functionality of your software

We will also see how to develop and deploy services from github to Heroku, describe them with openAPI and link specs with the service.

Apiary and OpenAPI

In the course we use Apiary as a tool to define, expose and mock APIs. Please register at apiary.io

We will expose the APIs on heroku.com
