Lucio Pellacani

Lucio Pellacani, nato a Castel Viscardo (TR) il 5 agosto 1947, si è laureato in Chimica presso l'Università degli Studi di

Roma nel 1971. Nel 1972 ha vinto una borsa di studio dell'Accademia dei Lincei. Nel 1973 ha prestato

servizio militare come Ufficiale dell'Arma Aeronautica e durante questo periodo ha anche lavorato presso

l'Università degli Studi di Parma, nel settore della Biochimica. È stato assistente di ruolo dal 1974,

professore incaricato di Chimica Organica dal 1979, professore di II fascia dal 1982 e di I fascia dal 1 marzo 2001 al

31 ottobre 2017 sempre presso l'Università degli Studi di Roma La Sapienza. È autore di un libro didattico

e traduttore di un testo americano. Ha pubblicato più di cento articoli scientifici su riviste internazionali, la

maggior parte delle quali collocate nel primo quartile di ISI Web of Knowledge. Ha partecipato a parecchi

congressi nazionali, internazionali ed elettronici, presentando comunicazioni orali, anche su invito, e poster.

È membro della Società Chimica Italiana dal 1975. I suoi interessi scientifici sono stati rivolti principalmente

allo studio della selettività della reazione di amminazione di idrocarburi saturi ed insaturi, alla sintesi ed

apertura d'anello di composti a piccolo ciclo. È sposato con Marina ed ha due figlie, Veronica e Claudia.

Lucio Pellacani was born in Castel Viscardo (Terni, ITALY) on 5 August 1947. He took his Laurea in Chemistry at

the University of Rome in 1971. He received a research grant from Accademia dei Lincei in 1972.

In 1973 he did his military service as an Officer in the Italian Air Force and, during this period, he worked

also at the University of Parma in the field of biochemistry. He was a research assistant of Organic

Chemistry at the University of Rome La Sapienza from 1974 to 1982. In the same University he became

lecturer of Organic Chemistry in 1979, associate professor in 1982 and full professor from 1 March 2001 to 31 October 2017.

He is the author of a student book and of more than one hundred articles published in international

journals, most of them placed in the first quartile in category of ISI Web of Knowledge. He has attended

several national international and electronic meetings, and he is the author of several contributions in the

form of oral, also as invited speaker or poster communications. He is a member of Italian Chemical Society

since 1975. His research interests have been mainly directed to studies on selectivity of amination reactions

of hydrocarbons and substituted olefins, Simmons-Smith cyclopropanation, ring-opening of small rings.

He is married and has two daughters.
