Research interests
Classical and recurrent novae, especially using multiwavelength spectroscopy, to understand their explosive hydrodynamic and nucleosynthetic processes, and dust formation mechanisms. Stellar winds and jet outflows. Mass transfer processes and accretion in close binary systems: Be stars, cataclysmic variables, massive accretion disks. Evolution of massive stars, especially the Luminous Blue Variables and B[e] stars and their relation to type II supernovae. Stellar magnetic fields: solar physics, stellar dynamo processes, and particle acceleration. Interstellar medium : turbulence and structure formation. Active Galactic Nuclei, especially the Galactic center. Planetary atmospheres: dynamics and evolution.
