Tyler is broadly interested in using an integrative approach understand how microbial symbionts influence animal evolution and ecology, with particular attention to the reproduction and development. He enjoys running, photography, and traveling in his spare time.
Andres is a Ph.D. student at the University of La Laguna (Spain) that is co-mentored with Dr. José Carlos Hernández and is part of the Adaptive Team. He is currently interested in the biology, ecology, and microbial symbiosis of marine invertebrates, especially those from The Canary Islands. His Ph.D. will focus on how microbes help sea urchins adapt to vent ecosystems, with much of his field work being based at the Marine Observatory of Climate Change in La Palma. He enjoys snorkeling, rock climbing, and traveling in his spare time.
