I am currently an Assistant Professor at the Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering Department in the Faculty of Engineering at Universidad de Antioquia (UDEA) .
I am affiliated to GITA Lab (UDEA) and I participated in the Thematic Collaboration Network STRONG, coordinated by Universidad de Antioquia and sponsored by CyTED.
Formerly, I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow participating in the INTERACT Alliance (Research Consortium between Universidad de Antioquia and Universidad Nacional de Colombia), coordinated by GITA Reseach Group at Universidad de Antioquia (UDEA), full time reseacher lecturer at Universidad Autónoma Latinoamericana (UNAULA) and full time lecturer and researcher at Universidad de Medellin (UDEM).
I completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2018 at Universidad Nacional de Colombia - Sede Medellín (UNAL) under the supervision of professors John Branch from UNAL, Colombia and Marinho Barcellos from University of Waikato, New Zealand. (Former Associated Professor at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul - Brazil).
I hold a B.E. degree in Computer Science from Universidad de San Buenaventura - Medellín in 2008, and a M.E. degree in Computer Science from Universidad Nacional de Colombia in 2011.
Currently I am affiliated as alumni to the Research and Development in Artificial Intelligence Group (GIDIA by its acronym in spanish) at UNAL, and the Research Group in Applied Telecommunications (GITA by its acronym in spanis) at UDEA. I am former member of ARKADIUS research group at UDEM, and of Computer Networks Research Group at UFRGS.
My current research interests are Cyberphysical Systems (Internet of Everything), Datacenter Networks, Systems Security, and Programmable Switches, focusing on Software Defined Networks and Network Function Virtualization. In the past, I have worked with the application of Artificial Intelligence to Network Management and Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition applications in Computer Networks.
According to the most recent classification issued by MinCiencias - Colombia, I am ranked as Junior Researcher.
Previous to start my Ph.D. studies, I worked during 8 years as senior engineer at EPM Telecomunicaciones S.A., in the areas of technical product development, mainly for Mobile, Multimedia and Voice over IP Services. Also I worked during 4 years as Sysadmin at UNAL.
