I created this website for students who want to research and write scholarly papers on Japan with English-language sources. It is designed to introduce students to various English-language primary materials for conducting original research projects on Japan, such as translated diaries and English-edition newspapers. It also provides links to digitalized archival and visual materials.
In this site, students can brainstorm potential projects that use, for example, the YMCA Archives in the Andersen Library at UMN. Students can also read about excellent past projects that only used English-language materials. These projects are meant to give you inspiration.
