About the Human/Machine Design Lab

The Human/Machine Design Lab in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, conducts research in mechanical and mechatronic systems that interact with humans. Example projects include rehabilitation therapy and assistance systems, powered exoskeletons and medical devices. The lab is directed by Professor William Durfee, Department of Mechanical Engineering. For a brief overview of some of the work, see Durfee's 2013 TEDxUMN talk and see the Publications link on this site.
