Line & Object Modification

CHANGING THE COLOR OF THE LINEWORK AND/OR FILL

1. Select the objects to be modified.

2. Double-click on either the open box (line) or closed box (fill) icons at the bottom of the tools toolbar. The color picker

will appear. Select the appropriate color and click OK. If either the line or fill of an object needs to be turned off click

the appropriate icon (line or fill) on the tools toolbar and then click the small box icon with the red slash through it.

It is located just below the line and fill icons.

CHANGING LINE WEIGHT

1. Select the objects to be modified.

2. Open the stroke dialog box. It is normally located on the right side of your screen in the docked tool palettes. If it is

not you may call it up under the Window pull down menu (Window>Stroke). Change line weight under “Weight.” Line

weight is normally measured in points (pt).

CHANGING THE TRANSPARENCY OF AN OBJECT’S LINEWORK AND FILL

1. Select the objects to be modified.

2. If the transparency tool bar is not in the working space go to the “Window” pulldown menu and click on

Transparency. This will bring up a tool bar menu which has numerous tabs. Click on the Transparency tab and type in

the appropriate percentage of opacity - 100 for fully opaque, 50 for 50% opaque, etc. This will set both fill and lines

to the same degree of opacity.
