The Recolor Artwork tool lets you easily change the colors in your illustration without editing each part manually. You can use it to swap color palettes, adjust tones, or apply preset themes—perfect for updating your portfolio or exploring different color options quickly.
Select your artwork using the Selection Tool (V).
Go to Edit > Edit Colors > Recolor Artwork, or click the Recolor Artwork icon in the Control panel or Properties panel.
In the Recolor Artwork window, you’ll see a Color Wheel with handles representing each color in your artwork.
Drag the handles around the wheel to shift the hue of each color.
Click the Link Colors icon (a chain symbol) to move all colors together and maintain the color relationships.
Unlink the colors to adjust each one separately.
This is a fast way to experiment with new color palettes.

Click the Advanced Options button to see more controls.
You’ll see a list of your current colors on the left and options to assign new ones on the right.
To apply a saved palette, click a Color Group from the list on the right.
To bring in a new color group:
Click the Swatches Library icon at the bottom.
Choose from Adobe’s color themes or your saved swatches.
When you’re happy with the result, click OK to apply the changes.
To save this new set of colors for future use:
Open the Swatches panel.
Click New Color Group to save the updated palette.
