Color profiles are sets of data that define how colors are represented in digital images, helping to ensure that colors look consistent and accurate across different devices. Each device can interpret color slightly differently, and color profiles translate the colors in an image so that they remain as true as possible across various platforms and formats.
Pixel Aspect Ratio (PAR) defines the shape of a single pixel in a digital image.
For most image editing work, especially for web or print design, you should use square pixels (1:1) to ensure the image appears correctly on all platforms.
Non-square pixels are typically used when working specifically with certain video formats and require precise settings to ensure the image displays correctly when played back.
