The Tool Panel on the left contains many tools essential for creating and editing your layout:
Selection Tool (V): Select and move objects on the page.
Direct Selection Tool (A): Select and modify specific anchor points or paths.
Type Tool (T): Create and edit text frames.
Line Tool (\): Draw straight lines.
Rectangle Frame Tool (F): Create placeholders for images.
Rectangle Tool (M): Create shape elements for layout or decoration.
Pen Tool (P): Draw custom shapes and paths.
Eyedropper Tool (I): Sample and apply colors, fonts, or formatting.
Gradient Tool (G): Apply and adjust gradients.
Scissors Tool (C): Cut paths and frames.
Zoom Tool (Z): Zoom in or out to better view or edit your layout.

Located at the top of the screen, the Control Panel changes based on your selection. It allows you to:
Align text or objects.
Modify stroke weight and type.
Change object dimensions and position.
Apply effects like drop shadows or opacity changes.
The Properties Panel displays contextual options based on what you’ve selected. Common adjustments include:
Transform Controls: Change size (W, H), X/Y position, and rotation angle.
Appearance: Change fill color, stroke color, stroke weight, corner radius.
Text Settings: Adjust font, style, size, leading (line spacing), kerning, and tracking.
Frame Fitting: Change how an image is position and cropped within the frame.
Paragraph Settings: Control alignment, spacing before/after paragraphs, indents, and justification.
Quick Actions: Access common tasks like Arrange (bring forward/back), Flip, Convert shapes, or access Text Wrap and Effects.
When no object is selected, the Properties panel displays document-level settings, allowing users to control the layout and structure of the entire page or document.
Page Size: Tabloid (17 in x 11 in).
Orientation: Portrait/Landscape switch.
Facing Pages: Toggle for book/magazine layout.
Margins: Adjust top, bottom, left, and right margins.
Adjust Layout: Automatically shifts objects if margins/page size change.
Page Navigation: Page number and navigation controls.
Edit Page Button: Opens layout options for the current page.
Rulers & Grids: Toggle rulers and column/grid views.
Guides: Show/hide guides, lock guides, snap options.
Import File: Place a file into the document.
Text to Image: Auto-generates image based on text prompt.
When a single object is selected, the panel switches to object-level settings for transforming, styling, and fitting the selected frame.
Transform: Position (X, Y), Width (W), Height (H), and rotation.
Fill and Stroke: Color and weight.
Corner Options: Individual corner radius.
Opacity: Set object transparency.
Effects (fx): Shadow, glow, bevel, etc.
Align: Align object to selection, margin, page, or spread.
Text Wrap: Several wrap styles (none, around bounding box, etc.).
Frame Fitting: Fit content proportionally, center content, fill frame, etc.
Auto-Fit: Maintains proportions when resizing.
Convert Shape: Changes frame shape (e.g., rectangle to ellipse).
Arrange: Bring forward/backward or send to front/back.
Import File, Text to Image
When multiple objects are selected, the Properties panel expands to include distribution and group controls, while still offering transformation and appearance settings.
Transform: Shows collective bounding box dimensions and positions.
Appearance: Shared fill/stroke (will show mixed if varied).
Corner radius applies to all or shared setting.
Align: Align multiple objects relative to each other, page, margins.
Distribute Objects: Space objects evenly along horizontal or vertical axis.
Use Spacing: Set exact pixel/inch gaps between objects.
Text Wrap: Same options as single object.
Frame Fitting: Controls apply to all selected objects.
Lock: Lock all selected objects.
Group: Group selected items.
Arrange, Convert Shape, Text to Image
Keep text, images, and backgrounds separate for easier editing.
Lock layers to prevent changes.
Hide layers to focus on specific elements.
Rename layers for clear organization.
Reorder objects by dragging them between layers.
