About Me: Steph got her BS in Biochemistry from UDM, where she was an active member of the Chemistry Club and resident advisor for freshman women interested in science and engineering. She got her start in research at Michigan State University where she did summers in the lab of Mark Kadrofske, studying gut epithelial cell wound healing. After graduating, she moved to UVM to get a PhD in neuroscience under the guidance of Gary Mawe, studying serotonin receptors and signaling in inflammatory bowel diseases. She was very excited to join the Young Lab and continue to pursue her passion for all things gut related and now studies the toxins of Clostridium difficile.
In her spare time, Steph enjoys late nights, black coffee, and most metal albums from 1998-2006.
