Welcome!

I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at Boğaziçi University, currently on leave and based in Zurich. I have been an Academic Guest at the University of Zurich in 2023 and 2025–26. I received my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Michigan in 2018.

My research is in public finance and applied microeconomic theory, with a focus on tax compliance and enforcement. I study how tax authorities should design audits, how information about enforcement shapes taxpayer behavior, and who bears the burden of taxes when consumers and sellers respond to tax rules. My work combines theory with empirical and experimental evidence and draws on behavioral economics.
