UMSI Graduate Students: Please note the positions listed on this site are Limited Availability Postings and are open to School of Information students only.

Non-SI graduate students can find Available Job Postings at careers.umich.edu.

Please click on the Courses page to see GSI openings. Check back to the site often; as new postings will be published as they are finalized. We hope to have all open GSI positions filled by early August.

IMPORTANT NOTES - PLEASE READ:

• • Please review the Orientation Information page.  If you are selected to GSI a course and are a first-time GSI, you will be required to complete and/or attend the GSI training  sessions. One of the mandatory requirements that is a condition of employment is for all  first-time UMSI GSI employees to attend/complete CRLT and UMSI training sessions.  Continuing GSIs are encouraged, but not required, to attend/complete the UMSI orientation.

  • Please review the General Information for GSIs page. This page contains important information for GSIs.  This information will also be included in your contingent offer letter.

  • Please review the GSI/GSSA Onboarding Checklist. This page contains REQUIRED action items for all GSIs. This information will also be included in your contingent offer letter.

  • Please review each job posting carefully for specific details about due dates and decision dates, as these may vary. Late applications will not be considered.

  • Some position availability may be subject to change and positions available could increase or decrease depending on final enrollment of the class.

  • Faculty are in charge of hiring and all decision deadlines are posted on the position description.

  • You will need to apply for each position via UM Careers.  Please follow the step-by-step Instructions and be sure to have necessary job posting ID# when applying. These elements are necessary to ensure you are able to locate the job you would like to apply for since we only advertise most of our GSI postings to UMSI students. If you are not able to locate the specific job you are applying for, please ensure you are logged in to the system before reaching out.
