EAS 570: Environmental Economics: Principles, Methods, & Tools
The course develops several conceptual frameworks of environmental economics and the quantitative methods to apply the frameworks. It emphasizes skill development for analysis of environmental policy and uses Microsoft Excel as a toolkit. Topics covered include nonmarket valuation of environmental goods and services; benefit-cost analysis; evaluation of energy conservation programs; market-based environmental policy instruments (air pollution, water supply); intertemporal energy depletion; climate policy; and environmental accounting.
