Environmental Exposure and Epidemiology

El Yunque Rainforest, Puerto Rico

Reproductive and developmental health is impacted by our surrounding environment. Well-designed hypothesis based human studies are needed to explore these relationships and inform risk reduction strategies.

Our research is focused on advancing existing knowledge by utilizing state-of-the-art exposure biomarkers and molecular epidemiological techniques. Researching exposures and health impacts in various life stages in the US and internationally. We communicate our results and conclusions to educate the research field, as well as the public.

We study associations between:

1. Environmental exposures and reproductive or developmental health,

2. Exposure marker utility and validation and

3. Conditions that lead to elevated exposures and strategies for exposure reduction.
