Testimonials

"The H-Net program is a great way to network with alumni that you might not otherwise have the chance to meet. I first connected with my mentor, Lacey Sapkiewicz, over the phone, where we shared our career interests and experience. Lacey then invited me to tour her department, the Beaumont Heart and Vascular Center, which was a great opportunity see a cutting edge healthcare facility. I have seen Lacey since then at various events, and it has been nice to have a friendly face in the room. I look forward to staying connected with her in the future!"

“Having an H-Net mentor this year was very beneficial in gaining insight from a professional in the field and learning more about different career paths in healthcare administration. My mentor, Sara Smith, was especially helpful when I was deciding between internship opportunities. I look forward to continuing this relationship and hearing more about her perspective on career development as I begin the fellowship and job search process.” – Sarah Falkof, MHSA Class of 2014

“My H-Net mentor, Janet Dombroswki, is an excellent adviser and coach. Professionally, she is an executive coach and I have been given access to someone who knows about the field, is dedicated to Michigan graduates, and able to give actionable career advice. This has been a valuable component of my professional development here at Michigan.” – Lincoln Haycock, MHSA Class of 2014

“My H-Net experience with Jeff Butler was great! In fact, such a positive experience in the program was the reason that I decided to become involved with this organization. Jeff was always receptive to my calls and questions, made time to chat with me frequently, and was able to council me on issues such as multiple internship offers on short notice. I ended up being hired as an intern at UCLA Health where Jeff happens to work, so we have continued to have a great mentor/mentee relationship and have had the opportunity to work on projects together as well. I know that Jeff will always be available to me as a mentor throughout my career not only as a friend and colleague, but first and foremost as a distinguished graduate of our program.” – Jay Thaker MHS, MPH Class of 2014 (pictured)

"Participating in H-Net has allowed me to grow my professional network, and my H-Net mentor has been able to provide me with valuable advice and insight. My mentor, Dr. Grant Greenberg, holds a leadership position here at the University of Michigan Health System, which allows us to meet in person and creates convenient communication. Dr. Greenberg has always been receptive to my emails and questions, making time to provide detailed explanations. I have been fortunate enough to attend meetings with him and see the wide range of subjects you can be exposed to in a healthcare career." – Katherine Mauro, MHSA Class of 2017
