If you are interested in working with our group, please review the project below and feel free to contact me with questions. See Research Descriptions for current projects.
Applications for Graduate Student Research Assistant (PhD-level) or Post-Doctoral Scholar are now open:
Cochlear Mechanics: Using our in-house finite element code that models the response of the cochlea to complex input sounds incorporating fluid-structure interaction, viscous effects, and electromechanics. Our NIH-sponsored project seeks to understand how complex signals, such as speech sounds, are converted to neural inputs for processing by the brain. Qualifications: Finite element analysis, partial differential equations, as well as interests in vibration, acoustics, and machine learning/optimization.
Please send a CV and unofficial transcript to me at grosh@umich.edu to apply.
