Problem of the Fortnight

You are invited to submit a solution to the Problem of the Fortnight!

The intent of this activity is simply to have fun thinking about mathematical problems.

Anyone may submit a solution. You need not be a mathematics major to submit a solution.

General guidelines for the Problem of the Fortnight

1. Solutions are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, 27 April.

2. Your solution may be hand-written or typed. If you use Word, you can use the equation editor (ALT =) to help you “write” mathematics.

3. You may send your solution to Dr. Aparna Higgins by email, <ahiggins1@udayton.edu>, or leave it in her mailbox in SC-313. Please provide the following information with your solution:

Name(s); Email address(es); Undergraduate student at UD (Yes/No); Time and date of submission of solution.

4. We ask that the solutions be your own. Most puzzle-like problems (and their solutions!) can be found on the Web. We would like this to be a fun exercise, and not a test of your web-searching ability.
