I have a B.S in Biology and I’m currently pursuing a PhD in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology. I’m ultimately interested in human biology and understanding how to prevent the root causes of debilitating disease. Uncontrolled inflammation is arguably the common denominator in many life-threatening diseases, and there is a great need to better understand such chronic inflammatory processes. Therefore, I’m currently working to illuminate the roles of historically over-looked Long Noncoding RNAs and their ability to regulate NFkB signaling, one of the most prominent signaling pathways that leads to inflammation. When I’m not in the lab I can be found training horses, cooking, road tripping, sipping tea or wine with friends, and telling my dog how cute he is.
