Diana Escalona

I completed my B.S. at UC Santa Cruz and am pursuing my PhD in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology. I am part of the Carpenter lab and we are interested in understanding the mechanisms in inflammation that could help us treat  inflammatory conditions/diseases. This leads to my project which will be to study the role of long non coding RNAs in the innate immune system. When I am not in the lab, I like to walk at the beach/forest with my family and friends. I have seasonal activities I like to do with my son and always searching for new places to go explore.
