Frequently Asked Questions
1. How old must I be to take drivers ed?
You must be 14 years and 6 months on the date the course starts.
2. Do I have to attend a class face to face?
The book work is entirely online. You will only have to attend a face to face session when you take the exam at the end of the course.
3. How much does it cost to take the course?
The course is $65.00.
4. Do I need to have a transcript when I go to the DMV?
No. Transcripts are only needed if you do not have a certified copy of your birth certificate or your social security card.
A transcript will replace 1 of these items.
5. How can I obtain my Real ID?
Take a copy of your last report card to your Permit appointment or your License appointment.
Take a copy of your bank account information or anything that you have that comes to your address in YOUR name, not your parent's.
STUDENTS
When you are finished with the course you must obtain an Eligibility Certificate from the Counseling Office. You must call 24 hours in advance to allow time for your certificate to be made. Once you receive it, it is only valid for 30 calendar days. After that time has passed, you must obtain a new one.
