THANK YOU!
Thank you all for an amazing start to the school year. Kids and parents are happy to be back and giving you all rave reviews. This year I feel a renewed energy that just permiates through the building. Please let Kate or me know if there is anything you need. We are here to support you!
Positive Office Referrals
September’s forms are now in your box. This is what’s listed in the handbook: “Our kids love coming to the office to hear all of the amazing things they’ve done in the classroom. Two forms will be placed in your box monthly, but please try to have all of your kids receive a form before May.” We would like all classroom teachers to do at least 2 a month, and specials/others with classes (you have one in your box now) to do it once a month.
Do not send children up with them (unless for a specific reason where they need immediate praise).
Turn these into Kate’s box outside her office each time you have them complete.
We will call the kids down at some point.
(note: We will cut off receiving them by early May this year due to end of the year craziness.)
Fire Drills
Thank you everyone for our first fire drill today. (We have to have 2 in the first 10 days, then once a month, including June.) The drill window will be added to your calendar in advance so you are aware that it is a drill. We will do this again Thursday.
A few tips moving forward:
Everyone should be bringing out their red notebooks, (located behind your door in your classroom) including a class list on the inside (and medical information if needed.)
The front cover is red, and the backside should have a green sign.
If the name is wrong on the back, please just flip it around so it’s plain green.
If you are missing a green piece of card stock, let me know and I’ll put one in your box.
After checking all of your kids are present (and silent), please stand in the front of your class with your Red/Green binder held high enough to for staff to see it. (If you know you’ve been checked off, you can put it down.)
All non-classroom teachers, please also stand at a visible location (in front of the classes) until checked off.
Just remember that the ultimate objective is to get out of the building quickly and safely in case of an actual fire.
Dismissal Times
2:00 5th & 4th Grade
2:02 3rd & 2nd Grade
2:03 1st & Kindergarten
No teacher should ever leave the classroom before 2:00.
Vector Training Videos
Please make sure that you are working on completing all of your Vector training videos. This needs to be completed in September.
Rea View Swag
Please see the attachment Jeni sent via email if you are interested in any Rea View swag. You can give a completed form to Kate for her to get to Handmade in Waxhaw.
(We recommend a clip board with your name on it for bus dismissal, even if not from here.)
BOG Testing
BOG Testing this Wednesday, 9/7 – 3rd Grade will have state testing from 7:45 until approximately 11:15. You can walk down the hall as long as the students are quiet. (They did a great job last year doing this.)
