Biography
I am an applied microeconomist whose research spans the fields of empirical industrial organization, public economics, and transportation economics. My current research focuses on understanding how firms in oligopolistic industries price their products and how government intervention impacts these prices and the competitive environment.
Prior to UC Irvine, I spent one year at the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) as a research assistant in the National Accounts Research Group. After one year at the BEA, I moved to The Brattle Group where I spent three and a half years as a research analyst. At Brattle, I supported expert testimony in cases involving antitrust, patent infringement, international arbitration, and tax law. My work included mergers in the telecommunications and airline industries, price fixing in the electricity, elevator, and escalator industries, and tax disputes involving financial services firms.
