Overview

UNIVERSITY EXAMINATION CENTRE  (UEC)

Examination is a means to evaluate the subject knowledge gained by the students and it provides feedback to the teachers to improve upon their teaching methodology. Examinations and tests  are necessary in schools and colleges to find out the real skills, talents and knowledge of the students. Since the examinations decide the fate of students, conduct of examinations promptly and fairly and then evaluate them properly is an important aspect of any academic programme.

The agricultural universities in Karnataka and in many other states had trimester system of education for both UG and PG programmes. ICAR introduced semester system of education in SAUs from 1994-95. Further reforms in agricultural education resulted in introduction of external examination component in the undergraduate programmes during 1999-2000. However, the constituent colleges were conducting the external examinations and getting evaluated separately. This had resulted in non uniformity in announcement of results early.

To bring uniformity in the external examinations and hasten the announcement of results, University Examination centre (UEC) was established at UAS, Dharwad during 2015-16. The UEC conducts  Centralised Examinations across the constituent Colleges, simultaneously.  UEC facilitates in maintaining uniformity in offering courses, , centralised evaluation of answer scripts and speedy announcement of results.
