Dr. Dileepan Joseph, D.Phil. (Oxon), P.Eng. (AB)

Associate Professor of Engineering

Dileepan Joseph received the Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Manitoba, in 1997, and the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford, in 2003. After completing postdoctoral research, in 2004, at the Invensys University Technology Centre, Oxford, Dr. Joseph joined the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Alberta, where he developed a research program on Imaging Science and Technology (IS&T), and taught computer programming to thousands of first-year engineering students. Dr. Joseph was also a Visiting Professor, from 2012 to 2013, at the McGill Centre for Intelligent Machines.

Research interests of Dr. Joseph's IS&T lab range from electronic imaging to computer vision. Motivated applicants with relevant experience are considered for graduate studies, especially those with a competitive bachelor's degree.
